History
North Parish Church Stirling, from 1842 to today
Mission and adaptability have been part of the lifeblood of North Parish Church since it was first opened on 29th May 1842 in Murray Place in the centre of Stirling, to reach out to the influx of people drawn to the town during the industrial revolution.
130 years later when the population changed again and new housing was being built to the south of the town, North Parish Church agreed to a bold move to the heart of the new community in Braehead. The new North Church opened in 1971. The foundation stone from the original church was located and placed in the new building as a commemorative stone.
After over 160 years and 18 ministers, that missional vision and focus on reaching out to the community with God's love remains at the heart of the church today.
